The Subsonic Aerodynamic Testing Association (SATA), founded in 1965 in the United States, is an international organization that brings together the world’s leading large-scale subsonic wind tunnel facilities. Its mission is to foster global collaboration, technical knowledge exchange, and expertise sharing in areas such as wind tunnel design and performance, measurement techniques, data processing, and facility operations.
With nearly 100 corporate members, SATA unites industry leaders such as NASA, JAXA, DNW, Boeing, Airbus, BMW, Audi, Honda, and prestigious technical universities. The wind tunnel facilities operated by SATA members serve not only aerospace but also the automotive, energy, and construction industries.
Türkiye as the Host
Following successful annual meetings in Kyoto (2024) and San Jose, USA (2025), the 60th SATA Annual Conference will take place in Ankara, Türkiye in 2026 Türkiye was selected as the host country during SATA2024 after a presentation by Prof. Dr. Oğuz Uzol, Chair of the Board of METU Center for Wind Energy Research and Application (METU-RÜZGEM).
Conference Program
Hosted by Middle East Technical University (METU), the SATA 2026 Conference will be held at the Sheraton Ankara Hotel & Convention Center.
